Sweet Summertime

Summer has got to be the best two months of the entire year. Don’t get me wrong, I love fall. I love the cool crisp air when you can wear scarves and boots. But summer, is just the full out best. Relaxing at the cottage, camping, boating, going to hot yoga whenever I want and however often as I want. Making delicious food and actually having time to sit down and enjoy it. Summer is the best.

I know technically summer only started this week but since the weather has been so warm in June it feels like we’ve already had a month of summer. I’ve done so many fun things and can’t wait to have another 8 weeks of this.

I’ve had so much time to cook and bake and try new foods. Lately I’ve been reading all kinds of recipe blogs and trying out different healthy meals, snacks and drinks.

homemade granola. literally takes minutes to make and is SO full of flavour.
creating delicious, healthy drinks is one of my favourite things to do. raspberry vodka, freshly squeezed lemon, water, ice & a splash of lemon perrier.
gluten free homemade pizza; bought the crust at Sugar Babies in elmira and added all the toppings i wanted. beer–unfortunately not gluten free!
GF pasta with sauted veggies. peppers, kale, mushrooms, onions & chicken. a little olive oil, goat cheese, salt & pepper, voila.
yogurt, granola & fresh fruit. delish.

Shopping in the summer of course is the best because I can drive all over the country side finding new random little stores. It’s my favorite thing to, go to lunch in tiny towns and then shop the streets. Not only do you find amazing little places to eat, but awesome clothes that no one else owns. If you have a spare day, pick a random town and go exploring you won’t regret it.

And of course nothing beats cottage living for the summer. Relaxing by a lake just can’t be beat. Enjoy every second, before we know it we’re going to be complaining about the snow. Take it all in, relax and enjoy.

Be happy, be kind & enjoy your summertime.
